Rest and a little gardening on the side

Today I decided to take the day in strides. Since I've been doing such hard labor in the gardens, spent much of my time watching TV. When I first put the TV on was only planning on watching one show, that turned into two, then three.

First I watched Touched By An Angel, an older show from the 90's. It brought back some nostalgia and so I decided to record the whole series on DVR for awhile. Well, I am not religious, but love the stories this show offers. After that show came on Matlock. Matlock is not one of my regular shows, but enjoy once in awhile. Finally, the original Little House on the Prairie two hour movie. I grew up watching Little House and never saw the original movie, so that was nice. I was disappointed when the movie so closely resembled the beginning of that movie series Into the West that was on a few years ago.

Before dinner, while waiting for my husband to get home, I sat out on the patio with a gardening book just day dreaming. Soon it was time to make dinner. After eating and taking care of the dog, I spent some time in the garden.

I planted some more seed packets in milk jugs (a little experiment), and noticed the ones I planted a few days ago are already sprouting!!! This is so exciting to see the flowers germinating so fast. Next I trimmed out the butterfly bushes next to the patio that should have been done last year and continued to clean out weeds and such in the surrounding gardens. There is still so much to do trying to get the yard into shape.
