Some Planting and Some More Edging

It was a hot day today. Planned on working in the garden, but when I started couldn't stand the heat. Planted my pansies. They were a gift to my husband and when he brought them home, I wasn't ready to plant. Now weeks later, they were a bit root bound. There are 6 pansy plants and instead of being in separate compartments, the planter was one large space. When I took them out, the roots were too thick to pull the plants apart. I cut them apart with the spade. The plants aren't looking very good. Also deadheaded. Hope they'll make it.

Later on in the evening when it wasn't as hot I played with the tiller again. Just can't get enough of it. The Mantis just eats through just about anything I feed it. It does get caught up on tree roots. They wrap around and jam up the tiller. As soon as I feel a root get caught, I stop the machine and pull the tiller out and sometimes that will unsnag me. Then I don't need to stop and untangle the tines right away.

Edged and weeded garden by fence using the tiller. This garden is full of Lily's. There are two varieties and I don't know the different names, but they flower at different times. Also plan to put a bit of top soil in this garden then mulch over top. Still not sure if I want to expand this garden out.
