Watering plants

This morning all the flowers were dry. I forgot to water them last night. Since it was going to be a very hot day, I had to wet the ground. A few of the new plantings were wilted already. When watering the ground, I tried not to get the leaves wet so they wouldn't burn. I was especially careful to water the plants that still need to be planted.

In the evening, the ground I made wet was completely dried out. This time, the sun was allot less extreme which enabled me to thoroughly wet the ground and not worry about burning the leaves. The only flower I skipped watering in the evening was the rose. The rose prefers morning watering according to the directions that came with the plant.

Soon I will be getting mulch and hopefully this will hold in some of the moisture throughout the hot days. Maybe then my flowers will not wilt so soon and I won't have to worry about rushing to water.
