6 Year Anniversary

This is the day I met my husband 6 years ago. I know this to be true because he told me so! Today, I was excited to wake up and have pancakes on my new griddle. The pancakes turned out delicious and perfect in way of appearance. Wayne gave me a makeup organizer box. It was setting were I would be putting my prepared breakfast and when I saw the organizer, I thought it was a dream. In the store I fell in love with the organizer. There are many compartments that all nest together when you fold them in.

Later in the day we went out to dinner at a place called the Willows. This restaurant is supposed to serve PA Dutch style cooking. Well the menu seemed like average type food, with just a few PA Dutch dishes. I decided to order something different and picked something called country fried steak with gravy and mushrooms. Not knowing what to expect, my vision of country fried steak was a piece of steak that was fried somehow in a special country juice, topped with sauteed mushrooms and gravy. When it came to the table, it was not what I envisioned at except for the topped with mushrooms and gravy. It was breaded and inside it wasn't steak at all, it was a hamburger type substance. I didn't like it after the second bite and couldn't eat it. Everything else that came with the meal was great.

For an appetizer Wayne and I split scrapple squares. This was the first time he ever had scrapple. They were fried just right and came with a side of apple butter sauce for dipping. They were delicious, but scrapple isn't something you can eat allot of in one sitting, unless your into really fatty bloating after affects in your stomach. I try to avoid that sick feeling. Salad bar came with the dinner and it was an average salad bar, but had two types of lettuce. Standard iceberg and a more colorful variety, which is what I go for. There was a macaroni salad there and another type of pasta salad. I picked macaroni salad. There was soups and yummy zucchini bread, which I couldn't get enough of.

Because I didn't like my "steak", I got an appetizer of chicken fingers. They were homemade and very delicious. Overall the meal was very good and now I know that I hate country fried steak. Wayne ordered sausage and when it came, it didn't look like anything special. I tasted it and it was homemade also and tasted great. The texture was very smooth and there wasn't' allot of fatty chunks inside, that's usually a turn off for me.

After dinner, we found a motorized tread mill that someone had out on their porch with a "free" sign on it. What great luck, I've actually been looking for one. We have a tread mill that you power with your feet. The reason I wanted to get one that is motorized is for the dog. My dog Chocolate uses the tread mill, but the one you power with your feet is too hard for her to push and she has arthritis in her legs pretty bad, so that's not good. Let's see how well she does with this one! Luckily we took the truck out to dinner and we didn't have to make a special trip back to exchange vehicles.

On the way home, we went to miniature golf and then had ice cream. Wayne won the game of miniature golf, as usual. I only one against him once. I ordered soft chocolate ice cream in a cone covered in chocolate sprinkles. It was delicious, as always. Wayne ordered his usual peanut butter breezy. It was a good day and we got home very late.
