For a few weeks now, I've been trying something new in regards to personal hygiene/ beauty regimen. I hate to shave my legs and such. Doing some research led me to waxing, which I'm already used to doing to my eyebrows. How hard can it be for the legs and armpits? The benefits seem great in the way of not having to shave everyday, but wax every six weeks. The pain may just may be worth it.
After buying the needed supplies, muslin strips, wax, and applicator sticks I began. First melted the wax and began applying to sections with the hair growth. Then rubbing on a piece of muslin in the same direction of hair growth. Finally tearing off the strip opposite of hair growth. This proved to be allot more painful than I imagined. Waxing was also taking much too long than I wanted to spend.
More research revealed a tool called an epilator. It looks like an electric shaver, but instead of cutting the hair the epilator rips it out from the root. Like waxing but without the hassle and time. I ran out and bought one from Bed Bath and Beyond.
Of course I was nervous to try it out since waxing hurt so much. Surely it was very painful at first. It's supposed to become less painful and make your hair grow in really fine after doing it for awhile. Doing the legs hurt allot, but only for a second or two after pulling out the hair. When doing my under arm area, the pain was excruciating. It took me a few tries for a couple days to get all the way through this area. The method with the epilator is definitely better, and despite the pain i will continue doing it. My legs are so smooth. Never in my whole time shaving did my legs feel so good.
